We are going to New York City for 5 days and then to Washington DC for 5 days, the list of things we both want to do in NYC is massive however the Washington list is gradually increasing... Here are some of the landmarks/attractions that we wish to visit while we are over there:
In New York City..
- Touring the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, alongside going up to the top of the One World Trade Centre Building and visiting St. Paul's Church.
- Going to the VERY top of the Empire State Building.
- Catching the Staten Island Ferry and seeing the Statue of Liberty.
- General tourist things, such as exploring Central Park finding the statues of Alice in Wonderland and Romeo and Juliet, as well as having a yellow cab ride.
- 5th Avenue shopping and visiting the department stores Bloomingdales and Macy's.
- Climbing to 'the Top of the Rock' - hoping to do this in the evening, to see NYC lit up at night.
- My boyfriend wishes to visit Madison Square Gardens, as well as the Yankee Stadium.
- Visiting Times Square in the daytime and at night.
- Have a wonder around the Grand Central Station.
In Washington..
- Visiting the White House.
- Explore the National Zoological, which is apparently FREE - love animals!!
- Again other general tourists things such as visit the various memorials such as; Martin Luther King, the Lincoln Memorial etc.
- Also my boyfriend wishes to visit the Verizon Centre where the local basketball games are played.
There is loads and loads more we would love to do, such as Madame Tussades and other experiences and attractions - but it's just if we have time.. We're both kind of wishing our time away now until the end of March, we just want to go NOW!!
Are there any other attractions in either NYC or Washington that you would recommend?
